In the Jingui Golden Shield Qi Gong we train the body one level at a time. There are five basic physical levels of training, these are Golden Shield (abdomen), Golden Bell (torso), Golden Crown (head), Golden Pillars (legs), and Golden Brushes (arms).
Students begin their training with the Golden Shield level as this builds a strong foundation for the consecutive levels of training. The Golden Shield level is followed by Golden Bell and then Golden Crown as we move up the core of the body. Both the Golden Pillars and Golden Brushes can be taken at any time they are offered. They are normally offered in a group setting.
Each student’s training is individually customized to meet their unique pace of development. Depending on one’s individual progress, each level of training is generally completed within 9-12 months, except for the Golden Bell level which is generally completed within 18-24 months. At the end of each level a special technique is given to the student which permanently “seals” in their level of achievement and energy cultivation. In other words, everything the student has developed is maintained in their system for the rest of their life, even if they discontinue the practice.
Class instruction is offered once a week, and are 1 to 1.5 hours long depending on the training level. Class time is composed of lecture, questions and answers, meditation and physical qi gong practice. Each student will receive individual attention to monitor progress and customize training. Students are encouraged to come each week to class with a minimum regular attendance of two times per month.
Between classes students practice at home at least 2 to 3 times per week, in approximately 30 minute sessions, depending on the training level. Throughout the training you will have objective measures that demonstrate the growth of your energy system.
There is a “Pure Energy” level of training which students can participate in after they have completed and sealed all levels of the Golden Shield Qi Gong training.
